   | CZECHOSLOVAKIA: BOHEMIA & MORAVIA COLLECTION INCLUDING MUCH POSTAL HISTORY. In all my years of describing I have never seen a lot quite like this! Five volumes solid with interesting material, specifically chronicling the history of the Protectorate from the late 1930s through to 1945 by way of propaganda, not just in First Day Covers but also in unusual maximum cards, special presentation sheets and booklets, both of which must have very low printing numbers, as well as combination covers with Deutsches Reich, 'V for Viktoria' studies, official stamps on cover, se-tenants on cover, 'Wir Sind Frei' 1938 Sudetenland including registered on cover, as well as '5.V.1945 Cesko-Slovensko' overpritns defining the end of the occupation, Bohemia and Moravia newspaper stamps used on original newspapers, telegrams, Heydrich material, bi-lingual advertising propaganda cards, bi-colored postmarks often with blue interior and red exterior and even triple-colored postmarks in red, green and blue! Other fascinating items include the inter-panneau pairs on cover, sometimes 'leerfeld' or with logo, a comprehensive specialized survey of the postal stationery including plate varieties and much more. An astoning collection, well recommended. | Est. 6,000.00-9,000.00
 | CZECHOSLOVAKIA/BOHEMIA MORAVIA FANTASTIC POSTAL HISTORY. This truly amazing accumulation of material represents the balance of an extremely large lot that we have been recently commissioned to handle, housed in four boxes, with a few thousand covers, specifically dealing with the annexation of Czechoslovakia, primarily Bohemia and Moravia, including the appropriately called Vorlaeufer und mitlaeufer, as well as the regular overprints of 1939 through to the end and the restoration of Czechoslovakia in 1945. Virtually every imaginable category is here in this balance - representing everything that we have not had a real chance to investigate further and group into different sections, i.e. Czechoslovakia used in context of the Protectorate, combination covers with Bohemia and Moravia, interesting bi-lingual rectangular postmark covers with such varied dualities as 'Tschastolowitz/Castolovice', 'Altpaka/Stara Paka', 'Josefstadt/Josefov' as well as color combination postmark covers etc. A fantastic range of advertizing covers, often illustrated such as 'T. Sabrana', 'Filatelie Kasel Pilny Plzen', 'Die Wehrmacht', 'Artesia', 'J Rousek a Synove' etc. Also seen fascinating incoming mail from different parts of the world to the Protectorate, official Police covers (Polizeidirektion) straightline, express covers, registered covers inc. unusual large red blue and black 'Kollatschen-Kolovec', large multiples on covers, much better commems on cover, often commercially used - many of which have a high catalog in their own right in the Michel. Also seen good postage dues on cover, fancy cancels, Third Reich stamps used in Bohemia and Moravia, corporate covers - most of which are written in Czech, Feldpost covers - most of which are written in German, propaganda labels on cover and much more. This is without doubt the best lot of Moravia and Bohemia covers, postal history that we have had the pleasure to offer. This is far more than a balance and requires a good solid viewing by experts in the field, as there is so much more to be discovered. | Est. 5,500.00-7,500.00
 | CZECHOSLOVAKIA: BOHEMIA & MORAVIA PHENOMENAL METER MAIL HOLDING. Large box of more than 700 covers with tremendous diversity of corporate names operating in the Protectorate from 1939 to 1945, many of these firms still being household names today. The covers include registered, advertising, many different rates from the 10h all the way to 5.40k, as well as a great range of towns in the bi-lingual cds part of the meter. Some of the companies we have noticed here in their various advertising cachets accompanying the meters include Bata shoes, Cokolada, Bosch, Osram lightbulbs, Philips, Fantolin motor oil, Apollo naphta, Fleissig-Peta wool, Skoda automobiles, Mogul auto oil, Elektrolux, Sellier and Sellot shotgun shells, Del Monte, Shell, Patrona, Palaba, Pribyl, Orbis motor oil, Zbrojovka, etc. Interestingly not one swastika was seen anywhere on these covers. It is easy when viewing so many of these to consider Bohemia and Moravia meter mails as easily available on the market- the opposite is true, they are hardly ever on the market and this is a fantastic accumulation with little if any duplication. When this is written-up methodically, as a history of corporate life under the Protectorate, this will make a postal history collection of world-class standard. A once in a lifetime opportunity for the aficionado, dealer or collector, of Czechoslovakia/Bohemia and Moravia before and during the war years. | Est. 2,000.00-3,000.00
 | CZECHOSLOVAKIA/BOHEMIA AND MORAVIA SPECIAL CANCELATIONS POSTAL HISTORY COLLECTION. A very unusual collection of special cancels, sometimes specifically done for philatelists during the Protectorate period of the late 1930s through to 1945, also many special cancels for political purposes, often with swastikas incorporated. The collection is methodically organised inc. Vorlaeufer and Mitlaefuer cancels, very often colored with high cataloging material in the Michel. This is also on Czechoslovakian postal stationery as well used in the Protectorate, as well as combination covers with Hindenburg heads and Czech 'coat of arms' issues. There are about 50 covers in this section alone, many with a high catalog in Michel i.e €50++ each. This is then followed by the Bohemian and Moravian definitives from 1939/1942 with a wide variety of fancy cancels for above purposes, already mentioned. There are also bicolored cancels, newspaper stamps on cover, postage dues on cover, etc. The first three books that also have much high cataloging commemoratives on cover, as well as high value definitives etc. There are approximately 150+++ covers including the scarce 'GD-01' o/p on cover imperf, the better 1941 'Prague Exhibition' series with at least five of these complete, with virtually everything else you can think of inc. se-tenants, leading through to the 1942 'swastika' o/ps, etc. in this part. Another important section of this lot are the 150++ promotion and presentation cards of various different sizes, consequently not housed in the three cover books but in a large mint sheet file, with much illustrated propaganda based on Third Reich image, Heydrich collateral, more 1939 Czechoslovakian forerunners on presentation cards, interpanneau pairs, brochures with stamps, advertizing inc. Prazdroy and much more - virtually every one of these is unusual and nearly everything is in first class condition. | Est. 2,000.00-3,000.00
 | CZECHOSLOVAKIA: BOHEMIA & MORAVIA MOSTLY COLOURED POSTCARDS/POSTAL HISTORY USED 1939/1945. Two cram-packed volumes housing several hundred postcards, all different, vittually all used in Bohemia and Moravia 1939 to 1945 showing a fantastic cultural history of the Czech-speaking peoples under the 'Protectorate'. Most of the cards are in color and focus on themes such as pretty women, costumes, dance, castles and churches, street scenes, rural life and much more. The best part is probably the many dozens of pretty women with some very attractive cards in their own right. This collection represents a lifetime's work of buying by one collector, offered intact as received. Much of it would be difficult to replace today and anyone interested in Bohemia and Moravia postal history, especially postcards during the years 1939 to 1945, will enjoy this very colorful holding of probably 500++ postcards. | Est. 1,500.00-2,500.00
 | CZECHOSLOVAKIA/BOHEMIA AND MORAVIA A TO Z BILINGUAL REGISTERED LETTERS AND COLLECTION. This is an extraordinary collection housed in one bulging volume, almost covering the spectrum A-Z of bilingual, registered labels all on cover, under the Protectorate. Not only are there many scarce covers here in their own right, commemoratives and defintives, there are also many commercial as well as philatelic. Among the few hundred that are here, it is most unusual to see such a collection so well formed. For example, on an A-Z basis, here are some of the German and Czech equivalent names on the registered labels and of course the many postmarks on cover - 'Adlerkosterltz/Kostelec nad Orlici', 'Babe/Babi', 'Beching/Bechyne', 'Brunn/Brno', 'Bauschowitz an der Eger/Bohusovice nad Ohri', 'Chrudim/Chrudim', 'Dablitz/Dablice', 'Eisenbrod/Zelezny Brod', 'Frauenberg/Hluboka nad Vitavou', 'Gumpolds/Humpolec', 'Gross Paulowitz/Velke Pavlovice', 'Jungbunzlau/Mlada Boleslav', 'Horaschdowitz/Horazd' ovice', 'Kladno/Kladno', 'Konigshof/Kraluv Dvur u Berouna', 'Klattau/Klatovy', 'Lissa an der Elbe/Lysa nad Labern', 'Mahrisch-Ostrau/Moravska Ostrava', 'Melnik/Melnik', 'Mzell/Mcely', 'Pilsen/Plzen', 'Podiebrad/Podebrady', 'Pardubitz/Pardubice', 'Protiwin/Protivin', 'Raubowtiz/Hroubovice', 'Rot-Reschitz/Cervena Recice', Rohatetz/Rohatec', 'Sasmuk/Zasmuky', 'Scharditz/Sardice', 'Schlan/Slany', 'Tschachrau/Cachrov', 'Turnau/Turnov', 'Tschernowitz bei Tabor/Cernovice u Tabora', 'Ungarisch-Hradisch/Unherske Hradiste', 'Unter-Biela/Dolni Bela', 'Weisswasser an der lser/Bela pod Bezdezem', 'Wschetat/Vsetaty', 'Wsetin/Vsetin', 'Zlin/Zlin', 'Zubern/Zubri', etc. There are also a large variety of registered labels of Prague with many districts present. Also two further volumes of this time off-cover bi-lingual registered letters, some duplication, all neatly set out with few empty spaces. | Est. 1,500.00-2,000.00
 | CZECHOSLOVAKIA/BOHEMIA & MORAVIA POSTAL HISTORY. There are several hundreds of items here waiting to be appreciated among the thousands of postcards, meter mails and parcel post international, with the latter two being substantially on large pieces as is often the case. Other good sections here include ranges of 'Anmeldung zum Spardienste/Prihlaska sporitelni sluzbe', that shows great potential in postmarks, just taking the 'O's for example, there are 'Ober Bradlo', 'Ober Berschkowitz', 'Ober Niemtsch', 'Opotschnitz', 'Oslawan', 'Olmutz', etc. each with bilingual Czech equivalent name also provided. There is much more here and the lot should really be viewed slowly to be appreciated. This is good range of material with potential. | Est. 1,200.00-1,800.00
 | GERMANY POSTAL HISTORY OLD TIME HOLDING. A superb accumulation of postal history in exceptional quality, mainly consisting of postal stationery housed in a box covering the period from the late 19th century to WWII, with particular strength in the inflation years showing the changes in rates - an excellent opportunity for further study. Also noted Occupation of Roumania items, Fieldpost, a highly unusual 1902 2pf Germania stationery card overprinted 'specimen', as well as a fascinating range of postmarks including unusual destinations and several items with postal receipts attached. There are over 2000 items here with certainly more than half used, yet the mint also has better material, including for example the Goethe illustrated cards and much more. Original holdings like this are not often on the market today. This is well worth a careful viewing. | Est. 1,200.00-1,600.00
 | ATTRACTIVE GERMAN THIRD REICH POSTCARD AND COVER ACCUMULATION. | 1165 | | GERMANY FELDPOST POSTAL HISTORY ACCUMULATION. A tremendous amount of material filling up one volume to capacity-approx six inches thick-replete with mostly WWI and a little WWII. Virtually everything is Germany, although we have seen some French POWs, Austria and even Bavaria. What we like about this book is its tremendous diversity. For example periodically there are very attractive colored propaganda cards, so called 'national types', old street scenes, military division photographs on postcards, regiments at work preparing for battle, rural life as well as huge variety of Feldpost strikes, occasionaly even Feldpost labels in different colors, integrated into the postal history of the particular correspondence. One of the most telling Feldpost items here was the large bold rectangular endorsement 'Am (Date) Fuers Vaterland Gefallen', presumably taken from the dead soldier or left in his possession kit. On a more up beat note themes such as aviation, ships, romance, camaraderie in the field etc. are all present. About four hundred items, perhaps more, it makes for a difficult count as they often overlap. There are many better WWI and some good WWII as well. A most absorbing viewing, a rich accumulation of primary sources. An opportunity for the postal historian. | Est. 600.00-800.00

| 1176 | | WORLDWIDE POSTAL HISTORY COLLECTION. Crammed to capacity three volumes, full of postal history with about 1500 covers-it is a difficult task to count as so many are stuffed on top of the other, making an exciting viewing, with much to look through. Virtually everything is unpriced and has been put together over many years. There is no one specific theme running through - it is extremely diverse. Nevertheless the last half of one of the three books has a great deal of WWII worldwide postal history, specifically dealing with routes from neutral countries, to neutral countries as well as neutral countries to war engaged countries. Some of these covers have 3 censor marks on them i.e. German, Bermudian, American, etc. Also, some very interesting Swiss covers here during the war years as well, there is no doubt that the WWII specialist with have a field day here. There are other good sections here as well such German Colonies Kaiser's yachts and a few post offices abroad in Turkey and China, again used. Overall there is registered, postal stationery from QV onwards, postage dues galore from various parts of the globe with much pre 1945, interesting Austria etc. Also seen some Spanish Colonies 19th century as well.
