1249	/		BRITISH COMMONWEALTH ASSORTMENT filling seven large cartons containing tens of thousands of mint and used stamps, postal history &: postal stationery, the bulk of the value is found in ten shoeboxes filled to bursting with glassines and although each glassine is sorted by country and often by by number, the glassines are in almost no order, one box is almost entirely Australia, another is almost exlusively New Zealand and yet a third is mostly Great Britain, majority of these glassines are bulging with stamps from Victoria through Elizabeth II issues and although much is inexpensive, key stamps are tucked away in every box, for example, we spotted mint set of Australia 1948 Arms set, a folded letter with Great Britain #1 along with used 1883 2/6 &: 5/ Victoria and dozens of Seahorses, from St Helena we noted 1922 £ George V Specimen overprint, and from India there is the 10R Gandhi, needless to say, there are a multitude of items in $10 to $50 range with some higher, several cartons are filled with file boxes of covers &: stationery and in these we observerd dozens of better FDCs from the 1940s through 1970s along with interesting First Flights and other postal history items and some better Victoria stationery, another carton holds old circuit books, bundleware, a few mint sheets and large multiples, and the best single box contains a large holding of booklets from Canada and Great Britain from the 1950s through 1970s, overall there is significant face value from both Australia and New Zealand with some Great Britain, in short this lot covers the entire gamut of philately with something for every philatelic palate. Seven albums with thousands of different QV to QEII stamps which just now walked through the door, Many different countries with a useful range of stamps present, to take the first album as an example, inc Antigua, Bahamas, Barbados, Bermuda, British Guiana, British Honduras, Canada of which probably the best is the Bermuda with QV 6d mint, KGVI 5/- keyplate etc, followed by QEII to £1 first series complete used. Then Canada KGV to $ defins, Bluenose, KGVI 1937/39 to $1 complete, same with 42/43/ and the 46/49 Destroyers series etc. This collection goes all the way through to Zanzibar in the last album, leading up to a range of Jamhuri issues. 1263	/		BRITISH COMMONWEALTH ACCUMULATION a small box brimming with interesting material starting with about 25 pre-WWII covers mostly from South Africa, Australia &: New Zealand with emphasis on First Flights and Airmail covers, most of the value however, is in the stamps which includes several better mint items such Canada 1898 Map set (2 blocks of four each) along with a selection of Admiral booklet panes, in addition there are several loose album pages of South Africa booklet panes of the same period, the best used item is an attractive Penny Black with Red Maltese Cross cancel, but we have still not mentioned the best feature of this pile, namely, the Postage Dues. The owner of this material went absolutely crazy by amassing a worthwhile holding of Dues from one end of the Empire to the other, we noted dozens of sets in the $20 to $50 range with some better such as Fiji 1940 Dues, North Borneo 1939 Dues, Nyasaland 1950 Dues (2), Transvaal 1907 Dues, Trengganu 1937 Dues, and saving the best for last, 1948 BMA Tripolitania Dues (blocks of four), lots of worthwhile salable material. 1276			FIELD POST OFFICES POSTAL HISTORY ACCUMULATION - MOSTLY POST WWII WITH MUCH BRITISH. This represents the balance/unsorted part of a large estate of a collector devoted to collecting military mail, primarily post WWII, especially British with well over a thousand covers. Of course the value here is not in the stamps but in the usage of the stamps from different parts of the globe. Much of this reflects the history of involvement of the British post WWII and much of this represents the 'trouble spots', relating to British policy abroad where Military personnel were stationed, sometimes for small short campaigns. In that regard, because there is so much here, there will definitely be some scarce items/primary sources of postal history. We have had to rely upon much of the markings made by the collector giving details of the FPOs. For example, there are FPOs used in Kenya, Kuwait, Bahrain, Egypt this time with earlier 'OHMS', etc. Much of this is from KGVI through to early QEII. However there are more modern, relatively so, i.e. the 1970s for other engagements including NATO, etc. For example British Forces stationed in Denmark, Austria, British Guyana, Labuan - some of these are scarce. Also occasional 'Maritime Mails', etc. Just noticed KGVI, from FPO 141 in Derna, Libya with 2 1/2d light ultramarine and 2 1/2d pale orange on separate covers, etc. Others include Sharjah, censor strikes, Canadian Legions and much much more beyond the remit of this description.
