Grove also designed U.S. Postage stamps. The lot incldues 4 different original oval shaped paintings between 4 inches and 5 inches in diameter. The 2 smaller ones are completely hand painted while the 2 larger ones have real photos of the trains with the background painted and the trains touched up with paint. Also included is a sheet of 4 vignettes with allegorical figures that was evidently rejected as well as a single proof vignette and photographs of a ""Rock Island"" Diesel. Unique in archive. SBNC.
