"1890's 1930's. 11 different proofs with the ABN eagle head on most. 1) Negative proof of eagle in circle with ""American Bank Note Company 1795-1879"" and 3 stars surrounding it. Mounted on manila card. 2)to4) 3 different ID card proofs on india paper. Includes an ABN Employee ID card; a ""Captain of Port"" U.S. Coast Guard ID card with hand drawn in pencil vignette of ""US"" and shield in upper right corner and a proof of the ""Pacific Tel & Tel-Bell Telephone Company of Nevada"" ID card. 5) Cut down large die proof of ABN playing card logo of eagle in ""Spade"" design. 6) Proof on india paper of ABN annual report cover from the 1930's. 7)to10) 4 different letterhead or title related proofs, all mounted on manila card. 11) Cut down proof mounted on manila card of ABN bookplate. 1892 "U.S. and Lawrence, MA. Cincinnati Industral Expo Medal and Washington Mills Expo Medal (3)." "1860-1872. 3 different. All are printed on India and mounted on thin Manila card. Light toning. 1) Cincinnati Industrial Exposition Medal Award for 1872. 2 inch diameter medal with circular doughnut mesh surrounding it. 2) Washington Mills Prize medal of medallion surrounded by rectangle with description of medal ""Clas XV Prize Medal. Lawrence"". 3) Washington Mills Prize medal medallion with no outer printing and cut to shape and mounted on manila card. Rare group. ABN." (Photo) 150-300
1893 U.S. International Association of Siderographers Proof. "1949. Proof. Production file for International Association of Siderographers. Proof certificate or possible cover for 50th Anniversary Convention of the organization. Eagle vignette. 8 by 6 inches with excess margin with notations. Includes letter on their engraved letterhead requesting a page to be included in the souvenir booklet. Also 5 additional pieces of correspondence and production material. Siderography refers to a process for producing engraved steel plates for printing currency that was invented by Jacob Perkins in the first quarter of the nineteenth century. The siderographers, first organized in 1899, are printing plate engravers employed primarily in the printing of paper money, securities, bonds, and other similar documents. Unique in archive. SBN. 1895 "US. Large Format Impressive Vignettes Used on Letterheads, Book Plates, Advertising and Watches." "1850-1870's. 6 large format proofs printed on india paper and mounted on manila cards with plate numbers. 1) Circular 2 inch diameter vignette with a small bust of George Washington in middle, allegorical woman on right and view of Mt. Vernon. ABNC imprint and dated 1859. 2) Rectangular vignette of woman holding flowers in ornate frame. CBNC imprint. 3) Washington in oval with flags. ABNC imprint. 4) ""Ninth Regiment N.G.S.N.Y."" with portrait of man in uniform with mustache. CBNC imprint. 5) Ornate Dartmouth College Library bookplate. ABNC imprint. Dark glue stains. Unique. 6) T.Roessle & Son Proprietors. Views of 2 different large grand hotels, ""The Arlington in Washington, D.C."" and ""Fort William Henry Hotel in Lake George"". Proof. 9 different product labels; company trademark labels; organization logos or ""Arms""; or advertising proof vignettes. Includes vignettes of ""Benjamin Franklin""; ""Connecticut Mutual Life insurance Co.""; ""Steam - Its Infancy and Progress"" with steamboats and trains; ""Prairie shooting"" with birds and possibly a gunpowder label; ""Badge G.A.R.""; ""Missouri Arms""; ""Craftsmans Life Assurance Co."" with dirty old man ""Father Time"" playing with young woman's hair; Un-named life insurance company vignette with allegorical woman; and, ""Bear River Tunnel Co."" with a funny looking bear or hairy pig. Printers include ABNCo. and CBNCo. and others. All are larger format between 3 to 6 inches in size. All are printed on india paper and mounted on manila card with plate number at top of the card and on the india paper. All have very slight foxing or glue staining and slight wrinkles and 2 have small internal tears from mounting, but otherwise a very attractive and rare group. All are unique in archive." Proof. 17 different proof coal mining vignettes, all printed on india paper, some are LDP's and others are cut down LDP vignettes. All but 4 are attributed to ABNCo. Companies include ""GE""; Studebaker; Gorham Mfg. Co.; Anaconda; The Hartford Trust Co. with dog gaurding safe; Astor trust Co. with beaver; Guaranty Trust with dog watching safe and others. 1899 U.S. People's Home Savings Bank Poem for Guest Room. "1880's. Proof. Front and back of a card that hung from door knob or placed on counter or bed for guest to read with a poem of words to the wise. Front has vignette of young girl and ""With Compliments of People's Home Savings Bank"". The back on a separate folder has a nice poem. Printed by ABNCo. XF condition. 1901 U.S. Security Bank Note Company Advertising Card with Advertising Calendar 1950's. Proof. Production file for a 1953 SBNC calendar. 1) Proof of 9 by 6 inch advertising card or calendar top mounted on thin white cardboard with eagle vignette and informoration about the company. 2) Unique SBNC 1953 calendar production mockup that has the heading glued from pieces of titles and vignettes and some of the imformation drawn in pencil. Included are proof passes for Order of Railway Conductors of America (3); State of Illinois Appreciation Warrant with Lincoln on the left; Chicago Board of Trade 1915 partial proof member's ticket; the undertint for a Chicago 1916 Progressive National Convention (Republican); miscellaneous text, title and border proofs and ""Twenty-Ninth Annual"" 1926 Foot-Ball Game of ARMY vs. NAVY at the Formal Dedication of Soldier's Field, Chicago (Unique in archive) as well as a small ticket for the game. Included are 5 large vignettes of calendar heads for Columbian BNCo. (3) and the front and back proofs for an essay City of Detroit partially engraved 1930's $10 depression scrip note with 2 allegorical women, unfortunately there are small tears on the top left and right margins that affect the note. Most are cut close and have die or plate numbers near them. Paper loss on the left side effecting 2 of the calendar heads, otherwise in fine condition. Columbian BNC." 200-400
