0062 Nicaragua Railroad and Lake Scene. 1949. Engraved vignette for proposed official stamp showing passenger train with one car; another train pulling flat car with men standing aboard and ornamental borders at the side, design die sunk on card showing monument with many ms. notations on the card indicating subject matter and cancelling order. 0063 Republic of Paraguay "Mando" Airmail and Postage Proofs. ca., Scott #. 7 different proofs printed on gummed paper. The postage proofs are a compound proof sheet of three with the 50 Centimos on top with the 10 Centimos and 2 Centimos below; the airmail proofs are in a similar format as a compound proof sheet with the 37 Centimos on top with the 1 and 10 Guaranies below. There is also a Master LDP of the stamp with blank denomination blocks and the postage and airmail block is blank. All are in XF condition. Unique in archive. Rare Paraguay proof stamps. Printing plate. 155x78x4mm steel die, composite showing full designs of 1c, 2c, 3c, 5c, 10c, 11c, 20c, 25c, 50c and 1P stamps and die "638", design shows "Liberty" holding flag and "C.A. 1894", a 5c stamp of similar design was issued in 1894 as part of the Columbus Anniversary series but none of these designs were issued as regular postage stamps, still a very rare composite. Scott #65-E11 Unlisted. 50x53mm manila card with black negative proof impression of George Washington vignette very similar to Scott #65-E11, but in a negative impression and unlisted in this format. Printed on india paper and mounte to manila card. Back has portions of border vignettes and evidently this was cut from a sample book. Rare and possibly unique Essay Stamp vignette. 0090 Dominica and Venezuela Rare Proof Stamps on Hamilton BNC Philatelic Advertising Card. ca.1880's. Philatelic advertising card for stamp design and production by HBNC. Card measures 10 by 4 inches with gold foil gilt edges. Front has 14 symetrical arranged border squares with specimen and proof South American stamps in them. Back has advertisement by Hamilton BNC "With Compliments of the HBNC Engraving & Printing Company, 61 Broadway - New York. Steel Plate Engraving and Printing of Bank NOtes, Postage Stamps, Revenue Stamps, Railway, State & Corporation Bonds, Stock Certificates.....". All of the stamps, both specimen and proof have purple "Specimen" overprints. Stamps are included from Republica Dominica; Venezuela; Honduras; Ecuaedor; Guatemala and Peru. Stamps are glued to advertising card. Back of card has glue stains on the 4 corners where mounted in sample book. 2 were found in a Hamilton BNC sample book, each wit different stamps.
