0202 U.S. Dodge Brothers, Inc. Automobile Bond. 1925. $500. Specimen bond. Red specimen overprints, POC's and "00000" serial numbers. Allegorical woman viewing globe. Coupons attached. Choice uncirculated with light toning at folds. 2 found in archives. In 1902 the Dodge Brothers were approached by Henry Ford and helped him with financing and manufacturing parts for his automobile up until 1913. In 1914 they went on their own to form their own automobile company. In 1925 the company was sold to Dillon, Read & Company for $148 million, said to be the largest financial transaction to take place up till that time. In 1928 Dodge Brothers merged with Chrysler. 0213 Pennsylvania. U.S. Louis J. Bergdoll Motor Co. 1910-13. Odd Shs. Specimen stock certificate. Orange border. Winged automobile tire with "Bergdoll" in arch over it. Red "Cancelled" overprints and POC's. XF condition. Louis Bergdoll, a German immigrant, founded the Louis Bergdoll & Son's Brewing Company in 1849. The company was very successful for over 70 years until prohibition and eventually was dissolved in 1951. He was also known as an amateur automobile racer in the early automobile era at the turn of the century. He favored and raced a 60 HP "Benz". He was so fond of cars, he started his own automobile company, The Louis J. Bergdoll Motor Company, that was in existance from 1910 to 1913. It is not confirmed if a "Bergdoll" automobile was ever built. HIstoric, attractive and rare early automobile stock certificate. 2 found in archive, one red and one orange. 0220 Rock Hill, South Carolina. U.S. Anderson Motor Company - Early Automobile Company. ca.1915-25. Odd Shs. Specimen Stock. The company was founded by John G. Anderson as the Rock Hill Buggy Co. and grew into one of the first successful automobile manufacturing companies in the South from 1915 to 1925.
