A well used printing plate with hairlines from cleaning, but still bright and lustrous. A few minor oxidized spots are found in the middle of the plate. Vignette by James Smillie called "Lions at Home" is found on the top with pheasant or turkey at bottom with flowers in vases on left and right. Includes original paper wrapper from archival storage. Imprint of American Bank Note Company, Philadelphia on bottom. This organization manages the Philadelphia Zoo. It was founded in 1859 and opened in 1871, which gave it the honor of being the first zoo in America.
