1256 U.S. Engraving Division - ABNC - Veterans of World War II Specimen Booklet. 1946. Specimen souvineer folder and menu for a "Welcome Home" banquet for ABNC employees who fought in the war. Cover has patriotic eagle flanked by 2 earth globes and U.S.Shield behind it. The menu is on the first page, I would like to know what a Consomme Double Amontillado is. Inside ther are 7 printed pages including the menu. Each page has an ABN intaglio engraving on the left side and the photos of either 5 or 4 servicemen on the facing page. Engravings include an "1840 C.Toppan engraving of the Declaration of Independence"; Statue of Liberty and a patriotic eagle holding flag and shield. The back cover has "Shaking Hands" vignette. Complicated transitional bond that originally was a "Security Banknote Co" bond that has a red overprint over the vignette that states "On March 3, 1965, Security-Columbian BNC was merged with Lanston Industries. Incorporated under the name of "United States Banknote Co.", a Virginia corporation...". Red specimen overprints and POC's.
