Includes 3 Native American vignettes used on Wells Fargo Traveler's Checks from 1900 to1920; 5 different Lincoln vignettes; 6 different George Washington vignettes and 5 miscellaneous vignettes. 1434 U.S. United States Arms, Eagles and Patriotic Vignettes (6). 1860's-1880's. 6 different proof vignettes of eagles, U.S.Arms, patriotic allegorical figure, and other U.S. related vignettes. All are printed on india paper and mounted on large manila envelope. Includes 5 different eagles with shields, arrows and variations of design and a large circular "Life Association of America" seal with the pyramid with the "all seeing eye" on top and 37 state arms surrounding the pyramid. Very impressive and detailed vignette. One of the vignettes is a Civil War era patriotic counterfoil for a bill of exchange or check that has an patriotic eagle holding a ribbon that states "State Sovereignty - National Union". 1435 U.S. "Progress" Vignette With Native Americans (5). 1872-1950's. 5 different proof vignette versions of "Progress" with Native Americans viewing cities and trains in the distance from hill top. All are printed on india paper with 4 mounted on manila file folders and one unmounted. 1). "Progress" with micro-printing listing 1872 date vignette was registered with Congress. Notations on folder list condition of die and roller and that the vignette was used on the 1990 Archive Series "The first American"; 2). "Homestake Mining" with allegorical men flanking same vignette; 3, 4). Vignette used for stock certificate top with the addition of "Number" and "Share" boxes and frame around vignette; 5). "Apache Corp" with Apache logo added to top right of vignette. Choice group. This vignette was also used on many other stocks, bonds and miscellaneous documents. Rare assortment. ABNC. All are printed on india paper and mounted on manila file folders with archival notations on each folder listing the condition of the dies and rollers. 5 of the vignettes were used on the 1986 Archive Series "Indians" and the other 2 vignettes are of older distinguished looking Native Americans. One of the vignettes has notations that the die was prepared for the BEP for their use. Titles include "Red Stick; "Indian Girl"; Indian Girls"; "Indian Camp" with the others untitled. 2 of the vignettes have small tears and glue staining, the balance appear in choice condition.
