Envelope also has different design elements mounted on it that could be interchanged with the denomination and text of the $10 TC that is included; 2). Traveler's Check back in green for American Express with face elements that could be interchanged for Canadian TC's. 3). Roman Soldier vignette logo used on American Express Traveler's Checks. 5 different sizies and borders. Stains and minor tears or scrapes on these vignettes. Condition varies from VG to Choice. Printed on india paper and mounted in manila file folders with extensive archival notations. Winged Mercury on left. 2 different denominations and one master proof design with no denominations that all the other notes were derived from. No undertint. The master proof with no denomination has itemized list of all of the dies and rollers used in the production of the note. Over 20 different dies and rolls used to produce this one Traveler's Check. 1597 U.S. Western BNC Advertising and Promotional Proofs. ca.1880-1920's. 3 different proofs. Two are similar and were evidently advertising pieces with text on one side and an engraving or vignette on the other side to advertisie the style and quality of work they did. Both have Native Americans on the face. Both are printed uniface on india paper. Both are in choice condition. The third item is an advertising heading or letter head with an allegorical woman with candles flanking both side of her portrait. The micro-imprint is "Western Division-American Bank Note Co." underneath the WBNC title and vignette. Evidently this item was prepared after ABNC took WBNC over. Theodore Roosevelt is on one and the other has an eagle holding arrows wit "E Pluribus Unum" in banner over him. Both have light toning and a few small spots, but otherwise appear in Fine condition. Facsimile signatures of "Burnside" as Governer and Callanran as Adjutant General on bottom. Printed by ABNC. Multi-vignetted certificate, 12.75 by 16 inches, with vignettes of Burnside with flags and canon on top, Civil War soldiers leaving and returning home on left and right of top, steamship and monitor type of warship on sides and soldiers fighting on left and right bottom with Rhode Island Arms in middle bottom.
