Choice uncirculated condition with large even margins. Rare notes only known as specimen. This note and almost all of the Central Bank of China specimen banknotes for "1923 Issue" have not had their prices changed since 1990 when I cataloged and priced them for this catalog. P-37J to P-37N Unlisted. 2 different color vignette proofs, printed on india paper, with one mounted on manila card, of the same design. Vignette has portrait of Li Yuan-Hung, President of China. Colors are purple and black. The purple vignette has had a piece cut out of the top while the black vignette is intact. VG to choice condition. All have vignette portraits of Yuan Shih-Kai, President of China. There are 2 with the same portrait but one has a square border and the other has a round border (as used on the banknotes) and the third vignette is of a different portrait and the title "Salt Industrial Bank" which is unlisted in the SCWPM. Drawing is on tracing paper with notations of plate or die numbers for portions of note to be engraved. Also included are front and back photo-proof essays of the note that are bank note sized. The front of the note has a portrait of SYS and the back has a drawing of the Island of Taiwan and a building above it.
