0375#485, 5c Carmine error imperforate, a superb single error at the center of a block of nine, being from one of the few sheets printed from plate no. 7942 that escaped destruction by the Post Office Department, oversized margins all around with a full guide line at top, wonderfully bright and fresh, original gum, very lightly hinged, the error itself Never Hinged, Extremely Fine and choice; only approximately 50 imperforate sheets printed from the error plate 7942 ever reached philatelic hands, each sheet containing a single error and a double error, therefore only a maximum of 50 single error blocks can exist, which qualifies this as being one of the great rarities of 20th century United States philately.
